Cain Labs invited to present at national epilepsy conferences

Dr. Swann conducted a workshop entitled, “Understanding Infantile Spasms: a Pathogenic Perspective” at the American Epilepsy Society’s 5th Biennial North American Regional Epilepsy Congress between December 5-9, 2014 at Seattle, Washington. 

Cain lab members, Dr. Chong Lee, assistant professor and Dr. Matthew Weston, postdoctoral fellow were invited to speak at the upcoming American Epilepsy Society meeting and the titles of their talks were respectively: “(1-3) Insulin-Like Growth Factor-1 Suppresses Seizures and Hypsarrhythmia in an Animal Model of Infantile Spasms” and “Hyperactivation of mTOR Signaling in a Two-Neuron Microcircuit Alters the Dynamics of Synaptic Transmission.

Dr. Swann was also an invited to speak at the Lennox-Gastaut Syndrome Foundation Annual  symposium held in Columbus, Ohio between Oct 24-25th 2014  and title of his talk was “Lennox-Gastaut Syndrome: Making the Case for Animal Models”.
